Created to honour the 75-year journey of Ahmed Seddiqi, the TEFNUT Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Edition captures the poetry of the desert - the birthplace of the family-run brand. Limited to just seven pieces, this timepiece reflects the partnership between Moritz Grossmann and Ahmed Seddiqi, two names bound by their shared respect for craftsmanship, heritage, and beauty in simplicity.
A TRIBUTE TO NATURE AND CRAFT
In the Saxon town of Glashütte, Moritz Grossmann artisans looked to the warm tones and textures of Dubai’s dunes for inspiration. The dial is hand-finished using the traditional 19th-century method of silver-plating by friction, a painstaking process that gives the surface a velvety matte texture. Its patinated finish shimmers in gradients of silver and brown, subtly evoking desert light at dusk.
The vintage character continues in the brown-violet numerals, the historic M. Grossmann signature, and the hand-annealed steel hands that match in tone. Each element is designed to complement the next, an approach that mirrors the balance between precision and poetry that defines both houses.
ENGINEERING ELEGANCE
At just 8.5 mm thick, the stainless-steel case sits lightly on the wrist, its brushed finish echoing the soft sheen of the dial. Beneath the sapphire crystal caseback lies the Calibre 102.1, a hand-wound movement built around Grossmann’s classic 3/5-plate architecture. With its stepped balance cock, raised gold chatons, and hand-engraved bridge bearing the number 75 (a tribute to Ahmed Seddiqi’s milestone), the movement is as much a work of art as it is a mechanism of time.
The kudu-leather strap, in rich brown, completes the watch’s natural palette, adding warmth and texture that perfectly suit its inspiration.
