Four of the Biggest Releases at Watches & Wonders 2025

Technical innovation and classical style on display at the world's biggest watch fair.

What’s Making Headlines

The premier event of the watch calendar, Watches & Wonders, is in full swing in Geneva, and the greatest watchmakers in the world are releasing their 2025 collections. Here are four watches that have everyone talking.

Rolex Land-Dweller

The most hotly anticipated (and debated) watch of Watches & Wonders 2025 is the Rolex Land-Dweller. Not only does the integrated bracelet design — inspired by the historic 'Oysterquartz' case — represent a brand new collection for the brand, but the calibre inside represents the start of a whole new chapter in Rolex's watchmaking story. The Calibre 7135 is something completely new. The movement replaces the traditional Swiss lever escapement and opts for something much more precise — a direct lever escapement that Rolex is calling Dynapulse, made possible on an industrial scale thanks to Rolex's expertise with silicon. The movement alone is protected by 16 patents and is the result of a decade of research and development. On its own, the Rolex Land-Dweller is an impressive achievement, but it's just the beginning of a new era of precision for the brand.

Patek Philippe Calatrava 6196P

Last year, Patek Philippe wowed the world with the Cubitus collection, a bold vision of the contemporary sports watch. Well, the brand's Watches & Wonders collection showed that Patek Philippe are still masters of classical watchmaking. No watch better exemplified that than the 6196P, an incredibly refined salmon-dial Calatrava, in a slender 38mm platinum case, with a contemporary manual-wind movement and a host of design details and finishes that make this pure expression of Patek Philippe's dress watch expertise feel surprisingly contemporary.

Hublot Big Bang 20th Anniversary "Master of Sapphire" Set

It only feels appropriate that Hublot's Big Bang is one of the biggest watches of the fair. After all, the groundbreaking collection celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025. And it celebrates in style. The brand is offering several themed sets of its most iconic case and one of the standouts is the 'Master of Sapphire' set, five watches all in the updated Meca-10 configuration is impressive enough, but case them all in varying shades of vibrant sapphire and it's clear that Hublot knows how to get the 20th-anniversary party started.

The Tudor Pelagos Ultra

The Pelagos is Tudor's technical dive family — made from lightweight titanium and with a stripped-back modern dive watch aesthetic. It's a technically impressive watch. The new Pelagos Ultra takes every feature of the Pelagos and dials it up to 11. The case is larger, at 43mm. Water resistance is 1000M, and even the movement is supercharged, the MT5612-U is Master Chronometre certified, and the Pelagos clasp features an ingenious, rapidly adjustable clasp that has a visual indicator as to what setting you're on. Even if you're not likely to take part in any extreme diving events, it's nice to know the Pelagos Ultra can handle it.
