Realness Rituals

Follow the steps our Rolex Certified Pre-Owned watches take on their journey to certification.

The journey

As the world’s most collectible watch and a venerated status symbol in its own right, Rolex has spawned a host of imitations, knock offs and fakes. So how do we go about making sure the Rolexes we certify and sell are bona fide, inside and out? Join us as we take you on the journey each Rolex undergoes on its path to authentication and certification.

Creating our collection

Through our network of trusted international collectors and Rolex dealers, we hunt and negotiate for exemplary Rolexes. Though we focus predominantly on out of production Rolexes, Day-Dates, Stella dials and other rare and collectible finds, we also stock great examples of the professional models and other more common Rolexes.

Vetting and inspection

Each Rolex we decide to acquire goes through a multi-step vetting process before it’s sent to Swiss Watch Services for a preliminary inspection, where the watch is opened to check it’s functioning as designed and ensure it still has only authentic Rolex parts.

Servicing and repair

If Swiss Watch Services has the necessary parts, the watch is serviced, repaired and returned to as close as possible to its original condition. In the rare cases where parts don’t exist, Rolex manufactures them by hand or using production equipment and techniques true to each model and its time period.

Authentication and certification

The watches repaired at Swiss Watch Services are sent to the Rolex workshop in Geneva, where any repairs or service work are signed off according to Rolex’s exceptionally high standards and the timepiece is authenticated and certified.

Preparation for sale

The watches are photographed for online display, marketing and cataloguing and shipped back to our new salon in Wafi Mall. Each certified pre-owned Rolex will come with a Rolex Certified Pre-Owned box, a seal of authenticity, an international two-year warranty card, a service booklet and an authentication booklet.

In total, the journey from finding a Rolex to vetting and servicing it, dispatching it to Rolex Geneva and returning it to our salon can take as much as 6 months, with every timepiece covering thousands of kilometres on its path to certification.

This intricate and multi-step process is the backbone of how we ensure that every Rolex we sell, not only performs to the very best of its technical specifications, but also comes with complete peace of mind, making them ideal purchases for collectors, first time Rolex buyers and anyone looking for a trusted Rolex to gift.
